Banging up the charts upon its release last December 2016, debuting at number 6 in Billboards’ Hot 100, Zayn and Taylor Swift’s collaboration song and Fifty Shades Darker sound track “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” once again breaks its own record reaching its new peak, currently sitting at number 2.

Its music video released days before the showing of the second installment of Fifty Shades immensely helped its status online as it spiked to 100 million views in Youtube this month. The sexy, “sultry” vibe throughout the song, a slightly new concept for the “collected” Taylor Swift, and Zayn’s “Sam Smith” notes can drive its listeners to their edges, a good combination for the steamy film.

Thing is, this song never really showcased the versatility of Swift. The somewhat similar voice of the two singers doesn’t give an intricate sound to the song. Zayn’s voice served as the soul of the track, overpowering Swift’s. If I were to compare the track to Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do”, this track lacks of sexuality and smoky feeling, having only an average level of sexiness.

Zayn’s “Baby baby, I feel crazy” line at the first part got me, and I think that part saved the song.
